PRACTICE DOJO

IELTS PRACTICE DRILLS, RUN LIKE A DOJO

The Practice Dojo is where you train between mock exams: four disciplines, eleven short IELTS practice drills, each focused on one skill. Pick a drill, do the work, see the result.

THE FOUR DISCIPLINES

Branded like a dojo, organised like a gym plan: every discipline trains one part of your English.

RECON

READING

The reading hall: pull the signal out of dense text before the clock runs out.

Speed Scan

An evidence hunt: find the exact information in a dense text against the clock.

Speed Reading

Pace and comprehension together: push your reading speed up without losing understanding.

THE ARENA

SPEAKING + LISTENING

The speaking and listening arena: hold your ground out loud when the other side pushes back.

Quick Response

Seven-second reactions: answer short spoken prompts fast, so responding in English becomes automatic.

Debate

Argue the motion against an AI that argues back — you practise answering counter-arguments, not just talking.

Difficult Conversations

Disarm the jab: stay calm and clear in a hard conversation when the other person pushes.

FIELDWORK

SPEAKING + LISTENING

Open scenario speaking: think on your feet and talk your way through.

Give Directions

Talk them there: explain a route clearly, step by step, until they arrive.

Speaking Games

Think on your feet: open speaking scenarios that turn practice into a game.

THE WAR ROOM

WRITING

The writing discipline: win the exchange in writing — tone, timing, and persuasion.

Negotiation

Negotiate under pressure, in writing — make your case and hold your position.

Group Persuasion

Steer the group: write to persuade several readers at once, not just one.

Match the Tone

Hold the line: write in exactly the tone the situation demands.

Witty Replies

Fast, sharp written comebacks — timing and tone under pressure.
